LYNDA’S BIO
Seamlessly traversing a range of genres, singer/songwriter, author, speaker and television personality Lynda Randle is one of Christian music’s most distinct voices. A familiar face at Gaither Homecoming events and on Homecoming videos through the years, her arrangement of “God On The Mountain” is the most popular video on the Gaither Music TV YouTube Channel with over 75 million views. Garnering a Dove Award for her 2004 recording A Tribute To Mahalia Jackson, Randle has performed at a Billy Graham Crusade; was among the official entertainers for the 98th National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in 2020; and made her Grand Ole Opry debut earlier this year. She and her brother, dc Talk founding member and Newsboys frontman Michael Tait, headline the popular “Together For Christmas Tour” each year, and Randle is the creator and host of the annual “A Woman After God’s Own Heart” conference.
Randle’s acclaimed Pilgrim Journey released by Gaither Music Group, debut in the Top 10 on Apple Music’s Top Christian Albums chart. Marrying Gospel, soul, blues and Americana soundscapes with Randle’s warm, rich vocals, Pilgrim Journey showcases new arrangements of popular Inspirational classics, spirituals and original selections, including such standout tracks as “Give Me Jesus” (feat. Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman); “I Want Jesus To Walk With Me” (feat. Tommy Sims); and the stirring “Motherless Child Medley,” a fan-favorite from Randle’s repertoire.
A peacemaker at heart, and bridge builder between audiences of all ages, race, and ethnicities, Lynda’s message and music is truly cross cultural.
While many may know Lynda as a singer, songwriter, author, and TV personality, her most cherished roles are that of wife to Pastor Michael Randle (Mosaic Bible Fellowship) and forever mother to her two precious adult daughters, Patience and Joy.
A NOTE FROM LYNDA
I accepted the Lord as my personal Savior at the age of 12. My dad, who was an evangelist in the inner–city of Washington, D.C., led me to the Lord at our kitchen table. After four years of trying to do things my way, I realized that Christ had only been my Savior and not my Lord. So, by faith, I surrendered my life completely to Him to use me in whatever way He saw fit. To my surprise, He started using music, and believe me, it was a surprise. I had never dreamed of becoming a gospel singer.
After failing the 9th grade and barely making it through the l0th grade in the D.C. public school system, my parents placed me in a predominately white Christian school. My whole world began to change. I started to see life from a totally different perspective and I was excited about all the possibilities that God had for me. After being in this school for nearly one month, I reluctantly joined the only choir that they had, which happened to be all white. Speaking of possibilities, singing with that choir almost seemed an impossibility at first. But God was faithful! I believe that God was preparing me then for what I know to be His will for me now. Bridging gaps.
I know that God has definitely placed a call upon my life to help tear down the walls between the races that have been built over the years and in their place build bridges. There is a great need today for bridge–builders and still a greater need to help people cross over. People that have never known how to, were afraid to, or just plain refused to in the past. I am so excited that God has allowed me the privilege of helping to build these bridges and enable me to help others cross over as well. It is about time that they know what is on the other side of life, so to speak. Fear, ignorance, and anger has held us back too long. I am ready to cross over. Are you?
